Concrete ACT: Nonlinear analysis of Reinforced Concrete Columns |
|
In many documents guiding the analysis of concrete models, the Solid65 element is widely used because of its own properties that help to express the actual characteristics more clearly. In addition to the strength limit parameters defined through the TB, CONC models, the stress-strain relationship is also included (For example, the TB, MELAS models).
However, from Ansys version 2024, the Solid65 element is not supported to combine both of the above material models. That means, you can only use 1 of the 2 material models to describe concrete with the Solid65 element. To continue using both material models, to increase accuracy, you need to use Ansys version 2023R2 or earlier.
In the instructions, you will have full commands to perform on Ansys Workbench. However, using the commands will have problems related to the unit system. If you do not control carefully, it can lead to incorrect analysis.
For that reason, a tool was developed to help users define simpler material models through the interface as shown below:
You can enter parameters: tensile-compression limit, stress-strain relationship, reinforcement model and Rebar properties
